Preparation tips

What should you do to be ready for the event?
  • Even if most of rueda patterns can be learned on the day of the event, it is better to watch videos and practice beforehand (see RUEDA PATTERNS section).

  • Wear loose clothing and sneakers (avoid high-heels).

  • Bringing spare clothing might be a good option as well.

  • Bring drinks, snacks and even sandwiches because we may not have time stop very often.

  • Bring cameras, selfie sticks to take pictures and record ruedas.

  • GPS tracking system to find your way  when you're lost.

  • For rueda callers, practice your calls (and hand signals).

  • Don't bring too much stuff, it's gonna be a long day, spare your back and shoulders.

  • Buy your transportation tickets in advance for the day, so you won't waste time and be left behind (please refer to the TRANSPORTATIONS section for more info about tickets).

  • Last but not least : we will greatly need your smile, joy and good mood, rueda is nothing more than dancing, so let's have fun and DANCE !

Information and rules during the event

RUEDA

  • There will probably be calls that don't know or mishear, in this situation we advise you to watch the cantante/caller ALL THE TIME, and try to copy as much as possible.

  • If you still get lost, keep calm, don't stop dancing and get ready for the next call.

  • If you need explanation for calls you don't know, please ask us at the end of the rueda.

  • Please quickly form the rueda as soon as the speaker tells to do so.

  • There will be 2 circles most of the time.

RESPONSABILITY

  • The organisation team will not be responsible for any accident, so please be careful of your own safety.

TOILET BREAKS

  • To avoid slowing down the group and be on time, we will not stop for toilets, everyone will have to handle their own needs. Volunteers will help you with WC locations.

  • We advise you to go to toilets before the start of the event and at lunch break.

TAKING TRANSPORTATION

  • For safety reasons, we will not wait for the whole group on the platform before getting in metro, Everyone will be responsible for they own ride. If you don't want to get lost, stay close to a volunteer.

BACK FLAG MISSION

  • The back flag (ruedathon flag) shows the end of the group. The person in charge will not push people to hurry up, if you stay behind, you may arrive late.

  • But if you're late, don't worry, you can still join the ongoing rueda.

  • If a problem occurs, there will be back-up team (not the ruedathon flag) that will handle it.

MISC

  • Pickpockets : Paris is unfortunately full of pickpockets, keep a close look on your belongings and  be aware of sly children.
